Meeple Night is the written residue of a Thursday habit. Same flat, roughly the same seven people, a shelf that has grown faster than the number of evenings available to use it.
The site exists because we kept having the same conversation in the group chat: what should we play tonight, given that two people are late, one has never played anything, and everyone has work in the morning. Answering that well turns out to be a different skill from knowing which games are good.
So the notes here are organised around constraints rather than quality. Player count, teaching time, and whether the game survives someone arriving halfway through. The games we rate most highly are, embarrassingly, the ones we play least — and saying that plainly seemed more useful than another ranked list.
We buy our own copies. Nobody sends us games, there are no affiliate links, and if something has been disappointing we say so — the shelf contains at least two expensive boxes that have been opened once.
